Frequently Asked Questions
Do I pick image or video first?
Yes. Open the Image or Video tab for the matching upload and settings. If you arrive from a Catalog card, the corresponding tab is selected for you.
Which model should I pick?
For photos, Standard is the safe default; use Preserve Detail for already-sharp sources, Low-Resolution Safe for small or compressed files, Text & Shapes for screenshots and logos. For video, Starlight Fast is the best default, Proteus the cheapest and most tunable, Starlight HQ for hero shots.
How big can the output get?
Topaz caps image output at 24 megapixels, so very large photos may be limited to a smaller factor. Video targets 1080p or 4K.
How long does it take?
An image is quick. Video runs frame by frame, so expect several minutes for a short clip and longer for 4K. You can keep working while it renders.
What happens to frame rate, audio and faces?
Frame rate and audio are preserved; Starlight expects sources at 30fps or below and warns you before submitting if your clip runs faster. Photos get optional face enhancement — one toggle, no sliders.
Where does the result go?
Into the Outputs column of your project, next to your other renders — ready to download, drag onto the timeline, or reuse as a reference.
